Report
Tottenham Hotspur claimed their first Premier League win of 2026, with Joao Palhinha securing a late 1-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but they remain in the relegation zone.
The match at Molineux appeared to be petering out to a draw until substitute Palhinha turned home from close range in the 82nd minute to end Spurs’ 15-game winless stretch and give Roberto De Zerbi his first victory at the helm.
But with West Ham United earning an even later 2-1 victory over Everton with a stoppage-time goal, Spurs remain 18th, two points behind the Hammers, with just four matches left.
Spurs looked to be labouring to a hugely disappointing stalemate after losing Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons to injury before Palhinha pounced.
Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky then produced a stunning save in the dying seconds to deny Wolves’ Joao Gomes and secure three valuable points for Spurs.
Wolves, relegated earlier in the week, remaining bottom of the table.
